Water Fountains + Bottles = New Options for Students
At the beginning of the pandemic we had to eliminate the use of water fountains, however, always being one to adapt we were recently awarded a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia to have touchless water fountains installed.
These water fountains were made possible specifically through their High Five Grant, awarded December 2021. “[T]he Community Foundation of Central Georgia created High Five to share needs of nonprofit organizations with donors. We hope that nonprofits will request funding to support unique and tangible items beyond an organization’s operating budget. CFCG will share these needs with our donors who can choose which projects they would like to fund,” from their website.
While we do not know who specifically our donor was, as it was an anonymous gift, we are incredibly grateful! Two water fountains were installed with this grant.
Along with the water fountains, the Macon Water Authority made their second donation to our students of water bottles. “Often students will forget a water bottle as they are leaving for school,” said Molly Wilkins, Director of Marketing. “As a parent and staff member myself I have seen first hand how helpful it is to have these water bottles on hand. Students frequently leave one behind at home or have one break on campus. Having these water bottles might seem like such a simple gift but it is a tremendous blessing along with these water fountains!”
