TURN YOUR TAXES INTO SCHOLARSHIPS
Yes, you read that right!
In 2008, the Georgia General Assembly passed the Qualified Education Expense Credit law. It allows Georgia taxpayers to receive a 100%, dollar-for-dollar, state income tax credit for amounts donated to qualified student scholarship organizations (SSOs).
St. Peter Claver Catholic School and other Georgia Catholic schools work with GRACE Scholars SSO. GRACE receives the donations, sends them to SPC and then our school uses the funds to provide need-based tuition assistance to qualified students transferring to our school.
· Individual taxpayers are eligible for a tax credit of up to $2,500;
· S -Corps, LLCs or Partnerships, are eligible for up to $10,000;
· C-Corps and fiduciaries (estates and taxable trusts) can donate up to 75% of their tax liability.
This is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. You are REDIRECTING your tax dollars from the state government to our school, and it costs you virtually nothing to do so!
What an opportunity to make an immediate and sustainable impact in the lives of children! And, so often we complain about how our taxes are spent. Here is a chance to have a say!
How Do Education Tax Credits Benefit Our School?
Funds for scholarship/financial aid are vital to recruiting students, especially here at St Peter Claver Catholic School because we are a mission-driven school, not tuition-driven.
It is our mission to serve families of all economic backgrounds and to make a quality Catholic education more affordable and accessible to all. Our school, parish, and diocese fully embrace GRACE because of its powerful impact. Today GRACE is providing assistance to 45 students this year in St. Peter Claver Catholic School and over 1,200 students in Georgia Catholic schools.
Let’s all embrace GRACE as a way to make a real difference here at home.
Signing up is easy on the web at https://www.gracescholars.org/. It takes no more than five minutes and every tax professional in Georgia is familiar with the program.
FRIENDS: Let’s do our part to make sure some of the $100 million dollars available in this program finds its way to our community to keep this important work going!
You can designate up to three schools to receive the benefit of your taxes or you can allow the GRACE Board of Directors to send your gift to the school where it is most needed.
