St. Peter Claver Catholic Church & School Win Historic Macon Foundation Stewardship Award

St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and School are honored to announce that we were the recipients of the 2022 Katherine Carmichael Oliver Stewardship Award by Historic Macon Foundation.

This award celebrates owners and caretakers of historic buildings who ensure that their buildings stay in excellent condition over a period of decades by consistently maintaining their properties.

Scholars and saints have walked these halls and grounds for over 110 years. The best known of these is Saint Katharine Drexel, our founder, who built the Sister’s House and the School in 1914. She also lived in the Sister’s House when in Macon. Other lesser known saintly people have visited and preached here, such as Servant of God, Thea Bowman - who is on her way to canonization.
