St. Peter Claver Catholic School is eternally grateful for the generous gifts and support it receives from our many faithful friends and supporters.
In line with the charism of our Daughters of Charity and our Franciscan Friars, we have an uncomplicated view of all that we possess.
Everything we have - our existence, our life, our goods no matter how we got them - all come from God and belong to God, and we are the stewards of all this.
“The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it.”
So when the Diocesan Schools Office changed some of our curriculum for the upcoming year, we looked around for a partner who could use our existing, and still current, curricula materials so that these materials could continue to deliver on the promise of education - and not end up as landfill.
We were overjoyed to be able to partner with Campus Clubs. Since 1996 Campus Clubs has been equipping at risk children and families with life skills training, educational resources and tutoring. Located in the Christian Education building of Strong Tower Fellowship just up the road at 2193 Vineville Avenue, Campus Clubs is a vital community partner. Their Learning Center is strategically placed in Pleasant Hill and is fully equipped to service over 180 local children with 10 classrooms, including 2 computer labs, and a multipurpose room. Throughout the summer and all during the school year Campus Clubs tutors children from K - 12.
SPCCS donated all of our English, Math, Grammar and Social Studies texts and workbooks to Campus Clubs, together with additional teacher support materials. All together, this represented well over $60,000 worth of materials that will be put to good use by an outstanding program for the benefit of our local community.
