POWERUP PREP - IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS

PowerUP Prep students are still blasting away, with one final week left to go. They are absorbing learning like sponges and having a good time doing it. Lots of reading, math, interesting STEM experiments and a custom Social and Emotional Learning Program are undertaken every single day.

This is all AWESOME, but you know what?

It’s the little things that show just how powerful the PowerUP Prep experience is.

Like the way Mrs. Pitts and Mrs. Stewart warm up the students muffins and bagels in the morning - not because they have to, but because that’s what they’d do for one of their own kids.

Or the way a student can drop by Ms. Milam’s office - just for a rest from the day should they need a little break - and it’s all OK.

Or the way that Brother Dan, a Franciscan Friar visiting with his brother friars here in Macon for the summer, pitches in to deliver extra help for kids working on their reading skills.

Or the way that Ms. Milam treats the staff and volunteers to homemade ice-cream made on site by herself from her fresh homesteaded chicken eggs (all her hens have names!) - fresh and creamy and sweet as can be.

It’s the little things - always the little things - that show you that the big things are being taken care of just right.
