Fr. Emmanuel Antwi Visits Middle School
Seventh and Eight Graders had a treat last week when Fr. Emmanuel Antwi from St. Joseph's Parish visited with them.
As a young, newly ordained priest (only 29 years old) he connected deeply with the students.
They loved his stories about growing up in Ghana. What daily life was like, food and other experiences.
Our students had plenty of questions having just spent time studying Africa in Social Studies with Ms. Rowland.
They learned about Fr. Emmanuel’s calling to the vocation of priesthood, what it means to be a Catholic priest, and the discussion also got around to his visits to the Castles on the coast of Ghana where the Doors of No Return are. He talked about the Ghanian people’s thoughts and reactions to this harsh part of their history and those of the African-Americans that visit too.
Thank you Fr. Emmanuel. We are so glad you visited with us. You are welcome anytime.
