Liz Milam
2nd grade, Camp Cougar Director, Archery Coach
I grew up in California and came to Macon to attend Mercer University where I received a BA in Education and later a MEd in Early Childhood at Wesleyan College. I’ve been teaching going on twenty-seven years and I’m about to start my 20th year at SPCCS. In this time, I have taught every grade level from Prek3-5th. In 2015, alongside Sister Cheryl, I developed Camp Cougar and have been the director for our summer program since that time
When I first started at SPCCS I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I loved the Christian family I joined. Being able to teach in a loving faith based environment is amazing. I love my families as well as my children. I also enjoy the rigor of SPCCS. Students are challenged to be the best version of themselves in so many ways.
When I’m not working on school or camp projects, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my niece, Annalise who lives with me. She is attending Mercer University and is on the Mercer Cheerleading Team. In all, I have 2 nieces and a great niece here and a niece and nephew in California. My parents are both back in Ga and are also a huge part of my life. my mother, Ms. Susan has also worked and volunteered in some capacity at SPCCS since 2015. I also enjoy gardening, being outside, traveling, Mercer Football, and live theater performances.
My animal family is also a very big part of who I am. I have two dogs, Bella and Sam, two toads, a turtle, many large koi, and fifteen chickens. My family likes to joke and call me “Dr. Do-Lizzie” as there are also many wild birds, hummingbirds, toads, frogs, and lizards who come eat out of my hand.
